We have developed a wide-weave cotton tarpaulin coated with a thin layer of wax.
This very contemporary effect, with its matt finish, lends a noble touch to bronze sculptures. With their sobriety, these materials blend naturally with the world of decoration (old stone, wood, brushed metal...). They have character and support the charisma of the lamps.
All lampshades are hand-edged and made in France.

Designed by Villa Alys, lampshades are no longer mere accessories: like the frame for the painting, they add the finishing touch to the fixtures, accentuating the nobility of the modelling and the patina of the bronze. Perfectly balanced with the Villa Alys creations, they cap lamps, floor lamps, sconces and chandeliers with refinement.
Each lampshade has its own character and delicately supports the charisma of the lamps. They shape the light, making it brighter and warmer, gently crystallizing it to give it a special quality, a delicate, festive atmosphere.
Caviar and Mastic are the finishes we have chosen, as they are most in harmony with the spirit of the sculptures.
Developed from wide-weave cotton canvas, coated with a layer of wax, these shades blend naturally into their owner's world, their sobriety harmonizing with the old stones of a manor house or the woodwork of a seaside villa, as well as the brushed metal of a Parisian loft.
We offer 60 materials and colors. Cotton, linen, flannel, taffeta, Japanese paper, raffia...

These lampshades will complement any décor, adding a touch of pop if required, or slipping discreetly into the background.
Adaptable to different models of lamps, floor lamps and wall lamps, these shades come in a choice of formats: drum, moon, mini-moon, half-moon, pyramid, oval or, more classically, conical. So, if they know how to be coquettish and light to underline the elegance of a wall lamp, they also know how to be ample and generous to crown the graceful majesty of a floor lamp.
In keeping with Villa Alys' values, all lampshades are handcrafted: the result of traditional know-how, they are hand-edged and made in France.

In the collection of our vegetable wax-coated cotton tarpaulins, we offer two colors, Caviar and Mastic, on gold or transparent.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR LAMPSHADE
A lampshade with a gold PVC background will emphasize the quality of the light. The aim is to imitate sunlight, giving it a warm, orangey quality. The shade remains opaque on the outside. Light only diffuses above and below.
A lampshade with a transparent background, on the other hand, focuses more on the functional side of the lamp, so that it shines as brightly as possible. The appearance of the illuminated shade gives the appearance of a luminous ball. The shade illuminates at 360°.

Manufacturing
Lampshades are made with a metal structure in copper wire coated with gold or white epoxy.
All lampshades are hand-edged in our workshops.
Each shade is individually protected with crystal foil.
Material
Our woven cotton materials are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified.
FSC, Forest Stewardship Council, is an environmental label whose aim is to ensure that the production of wood or wood-based products complies with procedures guaranteeing sustainable forest management.
On a global scale, the FSC aims to "Promote responsible management of the world's forests", i.e. management that is ecologically appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable,
to meet the needs of present and future generations. It aims for ecologically appropriate forest management, ensuring that the harvesting of timber and non-timber products maintains forest biodiversity, productivity and ecosystem functionality.
Caring for your lampshade
Caviar and Mastic lampshades in woven cotton, with their thin layer of vegetable wax, are washable and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Other lampshades in linen, taffeta, velvet and paper should be handled with care and cleaned gently with a feather duster or dry cloth.
